About us

With just 186 homes on the peninsula, Sunrise Intracoastal is unique for its small, close-knit feel.

Neighbors regularly gather for cook-offs and community events. With no through-traffic, children can safely play outside or walk to the neighborhood park. With its gated entrance and an active security presence (funded by the voluntary homeowner’s association), Sunrise Intracoastal routinely boasts one of the lowest crime rates in the city. The local elementary school is A-Rated. Waterfront homes offer deep water access.

History
Sunrise Intracoastal was founded in 1952, when real estate brokers sold 20 lots.  Mr. and Mrs. Philip A. Pardoe, formerly of Detroit, Michigan, broke ground on the first house in 1952 at 521 Intracoastal Drive. You can read the entire fascinating history in this document.
