In response to a proposed large-scale development at the Galleria Mall, the city of Fort Lauderdale recently requested the legal advice of the state Office of the Attorney General regarding the Live Local Act. The Live Local Act is a new state law that restricts local control over a development’s approval process if developers meet certain legal requirements and set aside units for workforce housing.
