Every LAST Sunday of every month, from noon until 5 p.m., Fort Lauderdale residents receive FREE admission to NSU Art Museum as part of Fort Lauderdale Neighbor Days.

Along with admission from noon until 5 p.m., Fort Lauderdale residents receive:

  • 2-for-1 Wine in the Museum Café
  • FREE admission, residents must show a photo ID, driver’s license, or residential utility bill with proof of Fort Lauderdale address.
  • Visit the Museum Cafe & Store and receive 10% off books published by NSU Art Museum.

Flooding Update — June 12

Earlier this evening, Mayor Trantalis signed a local state of emergency declaration for the City of Fort Lauderdale.Since midnight, the City has received between 7 and 8.5 inches of rainfall. Another 3-5 inches is expected overnight.

Closures and Cancellations
City administrative offices are closed until 12 p.m. tomorrow.
The Homeless Advisory Board meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 13, is canceled.


Mitigating Impacts
The City is actively coordinating with State Emergency Management and partners with Broward County to mitigate the impacts.
Vactor trucks are deployed and being utilized in areas where they will be the most effective.
If homeowners experience any impacts from the flooding, they are encouraged to document with photos for insurance purposes.

Trash, Recycling and Bulk Pickup
Trash, recycling and bulk waste pickup is expected to operate as normal tomorrow as long as roads are passable.
