Sunrise Intracoastal residents should have received a door flyer announcing a City of Fort Lauderdale smoke test on the sewer system conducted by Ardurra Group Inc. As the flyer noted, the smoke is odorless, non-toxic, non-staining, creates no fire hazard and should not enter the home. The process should be completed by late Friday afternoon. Residents can drop off their hazardous waste this Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Mills Pond Park, 2201 NW 9th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33311. The event is open from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Residents MUST register beforehand, by the deadline of Friday Nov. 22 at 12 p.m. This event includes free document shredding. The State of the City Address has been moved due to weather to October 14 at the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale at 7 p.m.
The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with Weekley Asphalt Paving, Inc. to complete a streetscape improvement project along A1A between Las Olas Boulevard and Poinsettia Street in the Central Beach neighborhood. The following work remains to be completed on this project:
Construction resumed on Thursday, September 5 and is expected to be completed by Monday, September 30. Work is taking place Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
